GBH is more than 120 years old brand.
The roots of our company could be traced back to Goh Leng Soon who retained the family name of Goh and added the phrase “Ban Huat” to form the company’s name, as he liked the auspiciousness of the Hokkien phrase that literally means “ten thousand wealth” or abundant fortune.
Our first product was the brown glazed ceramic cup that was used to collect latex from rubber trees. The ceramic cup was our sole product in its early years followed by nursery pots in the 1920s. Venturing in the sanitary sector in the early 20th century, GBH produces water closets and lavatories. In the 1980s, our product line expanded to offer full range of bathroom accessories.
Today, GBH is the reliable household name for bathroom products and we partake in most local mega projects be it Residential or Commercial.
GBH, being the pioneer of many ceramic products in Malaysia, have been included in various Industry and Products Standards Promulgation Committees under the Sponsorship of SIRIM and had actively participated in every Committee dealings with Standards for ceramic bathroom products.

This division has assists in the setting up of the Malaysia Standards and GBH was the first company in Malaysia to introduce the dual lush 3/6 liter water saving lushing system. Malaysia is the 5th country, after Australia, USA, Singapore and United Kingdom to introduce the 3/6 dual lush.
We are noted for our various innovations and we are pleased to recount some of these achievements as follows in the Sanitary ware (Bathroom Ware Products) industry:
- 1990 – First Company to in Malaysia to introduce the Dual Flush Toilet.
- 1995 – First Company in Malaysia to Introduce the Waterless Urinal.
- 1996 – First Company in Malaysia to introduce the Lady Urinal.
- 1996- First Company in Malaysia to introduce the Built in Bidet for WC’s.
- 2006 – First Company in Malaysia to introduce the Low Pressure Valve System
- 2007 – First Company in Malaysia to introduce the Automatic Street Toilet .
- 2010 – First Company in Malaysia to receive Certificate of Conformity from CIDB (Construction Industry Development Board) Malaysia for Imported Product/Material.
